Printable Paper Dice Templates
Do you fancy playing some dice games with the kids but that pesky dice has gone missing again? Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered with our Printable Paper Dice Templates!
You can make six-sided dice using our printable templates and be ready for dice games, maths activities and lots of fun in just a few minutes. All you need is some card, scissors and glue.
Dice games offer a fantastic combination of learning and fun, and are a cheap and easy way to help kids develop critical thinking, maths skills and social interaction abilities. There are lots of other benefits to playing with dice too:
- Dice games are a cheap way to keep the kids entertained for hours on rainy days.
- You can play dice games almost anywhere! Dice are easy to take with you when you’re travelling – all you need is a table or even the floor!
- Dice games can be introduced to children at a very young age, beginning with easy counting games at around 3 or 4 years old. Once your kids are a little older, you can try more complex activities and strategy games.
- Does your child find mathematics challenging? Dice games can help make learning numbers, counting, addition, and multiplication fun and interactive. To practise multiplication or addition facts, roll two dice together then multiply or add the numbers.
- You can play dice games by yourself, in a small group or even in a large classroom or at a party. They’re ideal for encouraging social interaction and teamwork and breaking the ice.
- Dice games are perfect if you’re looking for a fun replacement for screen time.
Fun Fact: Humans have been playing dice games for at least 5000 years, and they were popular with both the ancient Egyptians and the Romans. The first six-sided dice date back to 3000 BCE, and were made by chipping away at animal bones using tools.
What’s Included in our Printable Paper Dice Templates
Our Printable Paper Dice Templates include traditional-style dice with small dots representing the number on each side, and a dice with large numbers written on each side – perfect for younger kids.
How to make your dice:
- Download the printable paper dice template onto your PC.
- Print the dice template onto a piece of plain A4 card. White card is great for a traditional style, or you can use brightly colored card if you prefer.
- Using scissors carefully cut out the template including the tabs.
- Next, fold the template along the lines.
- Using glue or double-sided tape, stick each tab onto the face next to it. Carry on until you have made a cube shape.
- You can print and make as many dice as you need!
