How to Use Our Santa Driving License
There are a lot of ways you could use Santa’s License to make it a special memory.
Once you’ve printed Santa’s license, there are a couple of easy ways to make it look even more official. You could laminate it for that real ID-card shine, or simply print it onto thicker cardstock to give it the sturdiness of an actual license. Little touches like these make such a difference and help the whole thing feel even more magical.
One lovely idea is to find an old wallet – think something leather, a Christmassy red or green color, or maybe even a little sparkly. Then tuck the license safely inside with some cash and maybe a business card or two (feel free to get creative!) and leave it somewhere that Santa may realistically have dropped it. Think near the presents, by the fireplace, or under the tree!
If you want to make the discovery even more believable, you can set the scene a little. Leave a dusty boot print leading to or from the chimney, scatter a few cookie crumbs nearby, or leave the end of the carrot with some ‘reindeer bite marks’ still on it. Small details like these help build the story and make the moment feel so real and exciting for kids.
You can decide either ahead of time or in the moment whether you’d like your child to stumble upon the license naturally or whether you want to guide them toward it. Some kids love being left to explore and make their own magical discoveries, while others will adore hearing you exclaim, “Look what I’ve just found, Santa must have dropped it!”
Plus, the fun doesn’t have to end once Christmas is over. The license itself makes a lovely keepsake — something you can tuck into a memory box, pop into a scrapbook, or look back on year after year. It’s a sweet little reminder of the magic they felt in that moment, and such a simple way to hold onto a bit of Christmas joy.
