Your kids will love this craft – it’s creative, colorful, and endlessly customizable. It will be easy for you to set up and they’ll be able to get stuck in right away.
We have a number of different Stocking Templates, both in color or black and white. Plus many different festive decorative cut outs for you to get creative with too, to make your very own Christmas stocking!
This is a fun craft that is quick and easy. The black and white options give you the ability to make it even more creative, or you can stick with the classic options in full color.

What’s Included in Our Cut and Paste Christmas Stocking Craft
This Christmas Stocking Craft comes with a variety of different resources.
Included will be:

- Black and White Christmas Object Cut Outs
- Color Christmas Object Cut Outs
As you can see, there are two options available with this craft. Either you can pick the full color options for a quick and easy craft. Or you could pick the blank / black and white options if you want your kids to decorate and color them.
Then all you need to do is download the resources that you have chosen – just click on the download button below, then click the save button to ensure it will save to your PC or device. Then it’s really easy to print them out, totally for free!
To carry out the craft, you’ll just need a couple things and then you’re ready to begin. Keep reading to find out more about this later, where you’ll find the items we recommend grabbing as well as full instructions.

2 Blank Christmas Stockings
First up you’ll be able to find the blank, or black and white versions of the Christmas Stockings.
There are two different designs to choose from, and these are the most customizable options that you can get.
4 color Stocking Templates
These are the same Stocking images, but just in color this time!
We’ve gone with two different options – a classic red or green. Very Christmassy and certain to inspire some good creativity.
Black and White Christmas Objects Cut Outs
Next we have a number of different Christmas Objects available for you to cut out and use to decorate your stocking.
The images are wonderfully festive, and include things like a gingerbread man, a Christmas wreath, a wrapped gift, a Christmas tree, and a snowflake.
These are the more customizable option, as they are in black and white and are therefore great to decorate or color in as part of the activity.
Color Christmas Objects Cut Outs
Then there is the same Christmas Objects, ready to cut out and use immediately.
These are all in color and feature lots of wonderful, cosy decorations.
Christmas Stocking Craft Step By Step Instructions
Now that you have downloaded the Christmas Stocking Template of your choice as well as the Christmas Objects to go with it, you’re ready to begin!
All that’s left to prepare is:
- A pair of scissors.
- Glue or a glue-stick.
- Optional: Coloring materials of your choice like pencils, pens, or crayons.
Step 1.
You must first ensure you have downloaded the resources you have chosen, and then print them out. We’d recommend doing so on cardstock paper if you have it, but regular paper will work too.
Step 2.
If you have chosen to use the black and white resource options, decorate these however you would like. Color them in, draw on them, or even add extra things like glitter or pom-poms.
Step 3.
Then you must carefully cut out the Christmas stocking, doing your best to cut along the lines. Do the same with the Christmas Object Cut Outs you want to use. Depending on the age of your kids, adult supervision and help may be required.
Step 4.
Decorate and personalize your Christmas Stocking! Using the glue stick, attach the Christmas Objects of your choice. You can also add other decorations you think would work well, and get really creative making the stocking your own.
Then you’ve completed your Christmas Stocking Craft!
As always with crafts, we recommend doing them on a flat surface covered with a craft-friendly tablecloth. For messier kids or materials (like paint) feel free to also use a floor drop mat, and an apron to protect clothes too.
Other Ideas To Use Our Christmas Stocking Templates
These Christmas Stocking Templates are great to display around the house as part of your festive decorations.
They work especially well on a fireplace or mantlepiece, but could also be a great option for a festive window decoration.
But there’s lots of other things you can do with them too.
Another way to display them would be to carefully cut a small hole in the top corner, and thread through some ribbon. Tie this into a loop, and now you have a pretty stocking decoration to hang somewhere – it may even work as a Christmas tree decoration!
If you’ve completed this craft a few times, or alternatively if you have done it with a group of kids, then you could make a garland. Carefully make small holes in the top corner of the stockings, then thread through a string so they all sit evenly on it (alternatively, thread through ribbon, then tie this onto the string instead!). Then you have a wonderfully festive garland to display somewhere around your home or classroom.
Alternatively, the resources themselves would be great to use in lots of different ways. Grab some cardstock, print out the Christmas Objects Cut Outs, and then task your kids to make a jolly cute Christmas card for a friend or loved one.
Or you could use the Christmas Object Cut Outs for scrapbooking. They would be a great addition to a festive collage page, or even just to add some colorful cheer to your pages dedicated to the family Christmas activities you do at this time of year.
